an early-stage project

Terpline is an independent, alpha/beta project built and run by an individual developer, not a company. This policy describes what's collected and why in plain terms — it's the real picture of how the service actually works today, not a formal compliance program.

what we collect

  • account info — your name, email address, and a hashed password (never the password itself), or your Discord account ID if you sign in that way.
  • devices you add — a name and model you choose for each rig. We don't and can't track its location; Bluetooth pairing happens directly between your browser and your device each session.
  • saved content — temperature presets, LED configurations, screensaver images, and ramp profiles you choose to save.
  • a session cookie — set when you log in, so you stay signed in. It's required for the service to work and isn't used for tracking or advertising; we don't use analytics or ad cookies.

what we don't collect

All Bluetooth communication with your device happens directly in your browser — it never passes through our servers. We don't see your device's live temperature, session history, or anything else transmitted over Bluetooth unless you explicitly save it (a preset, an LED preset, a ramp, a screensaver image). Photos you upload as screensavers are converted to raw pixel data for the device entirely in your browser before anything is sent to us — the original file, and any metadata it carries (like embedded location data), never leaves your browser.

how we use it

To run your account, show your saved presets and devices back to you, and send transactional email — account verification and password resets, nothing else. We don't sell your data, and don't use it for advertising.

where it's processed

Terpline runs on third-party hosting and database infrastructure based in the United States, so your data is processed and stored there regardless of where you're located.

third parties involved

  • Resend — sends verification and password-reset emails on our behalf.
  • Discord — if you sign in with Discord, they handle that authentication; we only receive your account ID, name, and email as permitted by your Discord settings.
  • Focus V — our server reads their public firmware release list to tell you whether an update exists for your rig's model. Nothing about you or your device is sent to them; the comparison with your device's firmware version happens in your browser.
  • hosting & database providers — the infrastructure Terpline runs on and stores data in.

your rights over your data

You can access and edit most of your saved content directly in the app. You have the right to request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and everything tied to it. At this early stage there isn't a dedicated support channel for these requests yet — as the project matures we'll add a clear way to submit them.

data retention & breaches

We keep your account and saved content until it's deleted. If a security incident ever exposes your data, we'll take reasonable steps to notify affected users, consistent with our current stage as a small, independently-run project rather than a formal incident-response program.

security

Passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text. Connections to Terpline are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

cookies & tracking

The only cookie Terpline sets is the session cookie described above. We don't use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies, and don't currently respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals since there's no tracking to opt out of.

age

Terpline isn't directed at children and isn't knowingly used by anyone under 13. Separately, and specific to what this service is used for: you must be of legal age in your jurisdiction to possess and use cannabis accessories.

changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
